Local Involvement Scene - Service User & Carer Involvement

Within the local Mental Health Division of South Staffordshire and Shropshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust a commitment has been made to take notice of the views of patients and carers in order to bring Service User and Carer Involvement into the mainstream of service development. Consequently, Service Users and their Carers are being encouraged and enabled to be personally involved in planning, staff recruitment, decision making and auditing of the services they receive.

There are a large group of volunteer Involvement 'Consultants' who receive on-going support. Their main role of is to work, in partnership, alongside health and social care professionals.

Service User and Carer Involvement is currently supported by a Shropshire Division, Mental Health Involvement Team based at Shelton Hospital, Shrewsbury.
